Portfolio
When I run my fingers over my belly, I map the topographical differences of my skin. I trace a path observing the change in sensation on my fingertips from soft skin to slight divots of stretch marks, past an intermittent thick hair, over the roughness of raised scabs, and land on the hills of ingrown hairs. This belly, no matter its texture, is a part of the grand landscape that is my body. These examinations are used in the creation of my work, exploring and navigating the highs and lows of inhabiting a queer fat body.
I use my experiences of neurodivergence, depression, anxiety, grief, and joy to create a space where marginalized bodies feel seen, valued, and included. I will continue exploring the complex ways that identities and experiences intersect, and how freedom and liberation can be found through representation.
My art reflects how I want to see the world, in rainbows.
